General Questions

How does file upload and conversion work?

You send the file via drag & drop or by clicking the button. Processing occurs on our servers and the file becomes available for download when ready. The entire process typically takes seconds for most files.

Do I need to create an account?

No! You can start converting files immediately without signing up. However, creating an account gives you access to conversion history, Pro features, and priority support.

How long does conversion take?

Most files are converted within seconds. Larger files may take a few minutes depending on size and complexity. You'll see real-time progress during the conversion process.

Can I convert files on mobile devices?

Yes! ConvertCom is fully responsive and works on all devices including smartphones and tablets. The interface adapts to your screen size for optimal experience.

What file formats are supported?

We support over 200 (coming soon) file formats including:

  • Documents: PDF, DOCX, DOC, ODT, RTF, TXT, XLSX, XLS, CSV, PPTX, PPT
  • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, BMP, TIFF, SVG, ICO, HEIC, RAW
  • Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, M4A, WMA, AIFF, OPUS
  • Video: MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, 3GP, M4V

Can I convert between any formats?

You can convert between most supported formats. Some conversions may not be possible due to technical limitations (e.g., converting a text file to video). The system will show you available conversion options for each file.

Do you support password-protected files?

Currently, we don't support password-protected files. Please remove the password protection before uploading your file for conversion.

Security & Privacy

Are my files stored permanently?

Temporary files used for conversion are deleted immediately after conversion and the output file (converted file) is available for 60 minutes for the pro plan and 4 minutes for the free plan. We never store your personal data for commercial purposes.

How secure is my data?

All files are encrypted during upload using TLS 1.3.

Can you access my files?

No. We process your files automatically without human access. Our systems are designed to convert files without viewing or storing their content beyond the conversion process.

Do converted files have watermarks?

No. All converted files are delivered without any watermarks, limitations, or branding. The files are 100% yours to use as needed.

Plans & Pricing

Is there a file size limit?

Yes, file size limits vary by plan:

  • Free: 100MB per file, unlimited monthly quota
  • Pro: 10GB per file, 100GB monthly quota

Why does ConvertCom charge by file size instead of processing time?

Most file converters charge users per minute of processing time. That means if a file takes only 10 seconds to convert, you still pay for a full minute of credits. When converting hundreds of small files, credits run out quickly—even though the server barely worked.

ConvertCom takes a different approach. Instead of charging by time, our plans are based on the size of the file (GB). This way, you only pay for the actual amount of data you process, not how long the server happens to be running.

For example:

  • On traditional converters: 1,000 images (2 MB each) = 1,000 minutes of credits.
  • On ConvertCom: 1,000 images (2 MB each) = just 2 GB from your monthly plan.

The result: predictable costs, no wasted credits, and a model that scales fairly with your real usage.

Can I process multiple files at once?

Yes, batch processing is available in Pro and Business plans. You can convert up to 100 files simultaneously with real-time progress tracking.

Can I change my plan anytime?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and you'll be charged or credited proportionally.

Do you offer refunds?

No, at the moment we do not offer refunds.

What if my conversion fails?

If a conversion fails, please check that your file is not corrupted and is in a supported format. You can try again or contact our support team with the error details.

Do you have an API?

Yes! We provide a comprehensive REST API for developers to integrate file conversion capabilities into their applications. Our API supports all the same formats and features available on our web platform.
